Intermec Unveils Group of RF Tag Products
By Staff -- Logistics Management, 6/1/1999
Intermec has introduced a suite of application-based products based on its radio-frequency tag, the "Intellitag 500." The product line includes original equipment manufacturer chips, tags, label inserts, and readers, including the new 2100 Universal Access Reader, which will combine RFID and integrated network capabilities. The product line will be compliant with the new dpANS T6.256 product standard, which includes a software-application program interface that allows application developers to use a common interface independent of the hardware or frequency used.
Intermec's Intellitag 500 series of products can be employed in radio-frequency systems using either the microwave 2.45 GHz or UHF 868-915 MHz radio bands. The tag memory can be programmed either at the factory or in the field. Unlocked memory bytes can be written and rewritten more than 100,000 times.
A powerful anti-collision method allows tags to be scanned at up to 50 tags per second regardless of how many are in the read zone.
