Air

By Daryl Delano -- Logistics Management, 8/1/1998

Average aircargo prices rose sharply during June, following two straight months of decline. The big price movement during the latest month was in the express category; following 17 consecutive months of no price change--up or down--average air-express charges soared 29.6% between May and June. Despite this price spike in one sub-sector, we're expecting a decline of about 1.0% in overall airfreight transport prices during 1998--the third consecutive year of lower average prices in the air-transport sector.
