Fuel

After rising during April and May, fuel prices reverted to the longer-term downward trend in June. OPEC members have been reasonably successful in their efforts to limit production, but worldwide growth in demand for energy has been much slower this year than in the past. Across the board, fuel prices are much lower this June than in early summer 1997.
