Buckhorn Inc.

By Staff -- Logistics Management, 8/1/1998

Buckhorn Inc. has designed its new "4840 Distributor" pallet to meet the distribution demands of the grocery, food, retail, and wholesale industries. The platform is molded from high-density polyethylene structural foam. Because of its sturdy plastic construction, the pallet can stand up to hundreds of round trips in a closed-loop system, compared to a four- to 10-trip average for wooden pallets.

The Distributor pallet weighs only 29 pounds. Its lightweight construction makes it easy to handle, helps reduce lifting-related worker injuries, and cuts shipping costs.

The pallet's design allows it to carry 2,000-pound loads. The open deck has a textured surface, which reduces the chance of product slippage and damage during transport. It also provides true four-way entry with fork guides to allow for efficient handling.
