Pentwater Wire Products has introduced a low-cost wire skid, the "Pent-Pal Pallet." That platform comes with five legs (four in the corners and one in the center). Each pallet has a 4,000-pound capacity and can be color-coded.

The wire pallets generally weigh less than 46 pounds apiece. They provide four-way entry and have no recesses to collect debris. The open-mesh design, furthermore, permits air, water, or fire-extinguishing materials to pass through the structure. The units also are fireproof and weather-resistant.

Pallets come in a standard 40- by 48-inch dimension. They are nestable. Ten pallets stacked on top of one another reach up to 36 inches in height.
