Computer Associates Creates Supply Chain Unit

By Staff -- Logistics Management, 7/1/1999

Computer Associates (CA) of Islandia, N.Y., has reorganized its logistics and manufacturing software units into a single entity. As a result of the reorganization, Acacia Technologies and MK Group now will be combined into a single unit called the Supply Chain Group and placed in CA's newly formed InterBiz division.

In the past, the Acacia and MK Group businesses were centered on computer operating systems. Acacia focused on manufacturing and distribution applications using the IBM AS/400 platform. The MK Group provided manufacturing and logistics software that ran on either the Unix or Windows NT operating system. The new InterBiz Supply Chain Group will use BizWorks, CA's open framework for application integration. Other CA units in the InterBiz division include the InterBiz Financial Group and the InterBiz Banking Group.
