Trucking

By Daryl Delano -- Logistics Management, 9/1/1998

Over the past 12 months, overall average trucking prices have risen by 2.6%. Almost all of that increase has been concentrated in the LTL sector. During that period, average truckload prices have risen just 0.9%, but LTL prices have surged by 7.0%. We're forecasting overall average prices for motor freight to be about 2.1% higher in 1998 than in 1997, but LTL average prices will rise at two to three times the overall inflation rate for all trucking services.
