Air

By Daryl Delano -- Logistics Management, 9/1/1998

Average aircargo prices fell in July, reversing the sharp increase recorded a month earlier. After posting substantial increases in June, scheduled airfreight prices declined 3.2%, and air-express prices dipped by 4.2%. Cargo-charter prices were unchanged in July. The composite aircargo price index declined 2.8% over the month, and was 1.0% lower in July 1998 than in July of last year. Despite the price spike in June, we're still anticipating a decline of about 1.0% in overall aircargo prices in 1998.
