EXE/Sartech Deal Supports Compliance Labeling

By Staff -- Logistics Management, 8/1/1999

Many manufacturers and retailers now demand that their trading partners comply with specific bar-code labeling requirements on their shipments. In a bid to help its customers meet those demands, EXE Technologies Inc. of Dallas has formed an alliance with Sartech Inc. of Cincinnati, Ohio. EXE provides warehouse-management software, while Sartech specializes in supplying compliance labeling solutions.

Through the new alliance, EXE's customers will be able to obtain bar-code-compliant solutions from a single source while keeping up to date with changes affecting a variety of industries. Customers using the Internet will be able to download bar-code-compliant formats that have been licensed through Sartech. According to EXE executives, the alliance should help minimize transition issues for companies that frequently change bar-code printing systems or add printers.
