Low fuel prices continue to benefit the freight transportation industry. Over-the-year deflation in fuel costs has helped take some of the sting out of higher wage and benefit costs caused by trucking-industry labor shortages. Worldwide demand for petroleum products hasn't rebounded yet, given the global economic turmoil. The prospect for the balance of the year is continued low to no inflation in fuel costs.
