Multiton Introduces Three New Walkie Stackers

By Staff -- Logistics Management, 10/1/1998

Multiton MIC Corp. has introduced three new electric counterbalanced walkie stackers--the SC-20, SC-30, and SC-40 models. The stackers combine the maneuverability of a straddle stacker with the stacking capability of a counterbalanced rider, says the manufacturer.

The trucks come with a telescopic mast that offers three different lifting heights between 100 and 150 inches, as well as a triple-stage mast with a lifting height of up to 185 inches. The telescopic mast's lifting cylinders are laterally mounted to permit excellent visibility of the load and forks at all times. In contrast to other counterbalanced stackers, the SC models offer a shorter wheelbase with a turning radius of 54 inches for the SC-20 and SC-30 and 62.5 inches for the SC-40. This new line of stackers is available with a standard capacity of 2,000, 3,000, or 4,000 pounds.

Other features include an electronic speed controller, a braking system that is activated upon releasing the handle, a safety reversing switch on the handle, and an electric 1.2-kw motor with high overload capacity.
