Data Recorder Monitors Transportation Environments
By Staff -- Logistics Management, 10/1/1998
Dallas Instruments, a division of Lansmont Corp., has introduced the "PAL 2000," an advanced data recorder for monitoring transportation and distribution environments. The recorder measures 4.9 inches by 3.8 inches by 2.4 inches, can record for up to 120 days, and offers multi-mode recording capability. The PAL 2000 continuously monitors the distribution environment, then stores numerical information at user-defined logging intervals. Recorded data can include peak acceleration, duration of acceleration, peak velocity change, number of acceleration pulses, temperature, humidity, and a time/date stamp.
Users can specify logging intervals from 0.2 seconds to 24 hours, with sampling rates of up to 2,800 samples/second/channel.
The PAL 2000 incorporates a membrane keypad and LCD readout, allowing instrument setup and display of summary data in the field without the use of a computer. When connected to a computer, complete data analysis is provided by PALware, which is compatible with Windows 95 and Windows NT.
