Trucking
By Daryl Delano -- Logistics Management, 11/1/1998
Average prices within the broad trucking and courier services sector moved up 0.5% between August and September. Once again, this monthly increase was attributable almost entirely to price hikes in the less-than-truckload (LTL) category. Truckload average prices were unchanged over the month, but LTL prices rose an average of 1.9%. The price index for the composite trucking services sector was 2.8% higher in September 1998 than in September 1997.
