By Daryl Delano -- Logistics Management, 11/1/1998
Between August and September, average aircargo prices declined 0.2%. This represented the third consecutive month of falling prices, following a sharp (5.1%) spike upward during June. All of the September easing can be attributed to a 1.5% drop in average express aircargo charges. The price index for the overall aircargo sector rose just 0.2% between the second and third quarters of this year, and the September 1998 price average was 2.0% below the September 1997 level.
