Diesel fuel prices rose sharply during September, while the average prices paid nationwide for gasoline and jet fuel were little changed. Gasoline prices eased 1.2% between August and September, and aviation fuel inched up in price by 0.4%. By contrast, diesel fuel prices rose an average of 9.6%. Compared to September of last year, however, prices for all three fuels are between 20% and 30% less expensive.
