New Corporate Identity for Locator System Vendor

By Staff -- Logistics Management, 10/1/1999

WiData has rechristened itself WhereNet. The Santa Clara, Calif.-maker of real-time locating systems says it chose that moniker because its products have the ability to determine "where" assets are located and then make that information on those assets' whereabouts visible on the "Internet."

WhereNet provides a small wireless tag with a cellular reader infrastructure to locate and manage resources. "We felt that the change to the name "WhereNet" better captured both our current capabilities and future direction," says Dan Doles, president of the company.
