Fuel
By Staff -- Logistics Management, 10/1/1999
Fuel prices are on the rebound and will probably continue to rise throughout much of next year. In August 1999, gasoline prices jumped 45.1% from year-ago levels, jet fuel prices soared 32.2%, and #2 diesel fuel oil prices heated up 47.8%. Strong domestic demand for fuel and OPEC's reductions in crude-oil production are driving the recent price runup. Continued cuts in oil supplies will drive fuel costs higher in 2000.
