Recent major contract announcements include:- DuPont has chosen Exel Logistics to provide freight management services for its Engineering Polymers Business Unit. Since March, Exel has overseen all U.S. outbound freight from DuPont's warehouse in Parkersburg, W.V.
- Power Logistics, an operating company of The Power Group, has contracted with Hershey Foods Corp. to start up and operate a new 1.2 million-square-foot storage and distribution facility to be located near Hershey, Pa. The facility is a high-cube, temperature-controlled building that's expected to be fully operational in the spring of 2000.
- MGM Home Entertainment, a unit of Metro-Goldywn-Mayer Inc., and E3 Corp. announced a new distribution alliance to fuel growth, improve service, and build shareholder value. Under the agreement's terms, E3 will provide both its Vendor Management Inventory software, eCRISP, and inventory analysts to manage store-level replenishment for MGM's major retail customers, such as Kmart and Wal-Mart.
- Kellogg Co. has joined ranks with Danzas to develop a competitive global supply chain. Danzas will handle freight originating from all of Kellogg's production facilities throughout the world.
n Processors Unlimited, a subsidiary of USFreightways Corp., now manages the reclamation of all pharmaceutical products from Eckerd Corp.'s 2,900 stores and warehouses and provides data to improve Eckerd's inventory management and compliance with Drug Enforcement Agency guidelines.
