Opti-Lube Transmission Lubrication Improves Performance

By Staff -- Logistics Management, 10/1/1999

Transmission Technologies Corp.'s Opti-Lube Transmission Lubrication System is designed to improve transmission performance, efficiency, and longevity. Standard on all Spicer 9- and 10-speed transmissions, Opti-Lube eliminates the bulk and complexity associated with typical transmission coolers and reduces maintenance and downtime resulting from a leaky hose, says the company.

The manufacturer also claims that this lubrication system reduces oil levels by 33 percent, resulting in reduced cost, lower vehicle weight, lower disposal costs, and reduced environmental impact.

Opti-Lube weighs almost 6 pounds, one-tenth the weight of the cooling systems it was created to replace. It uses an internally mounted pump to send a constant stream of oil through a simple delivery system, which sprays lubricant directly on gear sets and bearings. Opti-Lube operates whenever the engine is on, providing lubrication at all times. Even when the transmission is in neutral or reverse, Opti-Lube ensures friction points are consistently showered with oil.

The sealed and enclosed Opti-Lube system requires no regular maintenance.
