Camera Lets Two-Way Radios Transmit Pictures

By Staff -- Logistics Management, 12/1/1998

Two-way radios now can transmit still video images using a new digital camera from Kenwood Communications. The "RadCam" can capture, store, and display up to 10 images in standard digital format and then transmit the images to one or more recipients.

The RadCam combines an image-scan converter, CCD camera, and LCD monitor in a compact battery-operated unit. The unit is designed to work with personal computers for image storage and editing. It can connect to a PC serial port for direct image downloading by means of an optional cord-connection kit and Microsoft Windows 95 software.
