Trucking
By Daryl Delano -- Logistics Management, 12/1/1998
Average prices within the broad trucking and courier services sector moved up a scant 0.1% between September and October. Almost all of the increase can be attributed to continued sharp price hikes in the less-than-truckload category, which rose 1.3% in October, while local general freight charges dropped a surprising 2.4% and average truckload prices moved ahead a characteristically slight 0.1%. It appears that the overall trucking price index will rise about 2.5% for the year 1998.
