Water

By Daryl Delano -- Logistics Management, 12/1/1998

Average prices in the waterborne freight sector fell 0.3% between September and October after rising in four out of the previous five months. Although up a whopping 21.2% over the past year, inbound liner charges have stabilized, declining for the second straight month in October. Though there's been a lot of price movement during the year in the various water freight categories, overall prices for 1998 will likely end the year only about 1.0% above 1997 levels.
