Your truckers may be watching you

By Staff -- Logistics Management, 11/1/1999

Your truckers may be watching you--and telling the rest of the industry how efficiently your docks operate. The Truckload Carriers Association and CompuNet Credit Services have created an interactive Web site that allows carriers to share information on conditions at shipping and receiving docks, including such things as wait time, additional charges such as gate fees and lumber fees, and paperwork efficiency. The site will also gather information on the availability of facilities for drivers and services demanded of drivers such as loading, unloading, sorting, and segregating. The site can be reached at www.dockreport.com and is free of charge through year end, although it does the user to register.
