Jet Fuel

By Staff -- Logistics Management, 11/1/1999

Airline companies say their earnings are being hurt by higher jet fuel prices. Economists see few prospects for a drop in prices in the near future because OPEC members as well as Mexico and Norway appear committed to limiting crude-oil production. West Texas intermediate crude prices are expected to average about $25 per barrel through at least April 2000. That means U.S. refined petroleum prices--and jet fuel prices specifically--won't be diving anytime soon.
