- American Freightways received the 1998 LTL Interregional Carrier of the Year Award from Michelin. The annual award is reserved for carriers that have achieved a high level of performance in on-time delivery, integrity of delivery, number of complaints associated with carrier equipment or service, and level of EDI accuracy.- Aristech Chemical Corp. has awarded Initial DSI Transports Inc. its 1999 Bulk Carrier of the Year award for the carrier's Haverhill, Ohio, facility. The award was presented in recognition of the carrier's quality transportation service, adherence to on-time delivery standards, and continuous improvement, with a demonstrated commitment to safety.
- Colgate-Palmolive has named Hub Group Inc. its 1998 Intermodal Carrier of the Year. Hub Group was chosen for its superior equipment availability and condition, communications, responsiveness, on-time pickups and deliveries, accuracy, and timeliness of invoicing, professionalism, and handling of claims.
- Intexo, an MSAS Global Logistics company that provides gateway logistics services to high-tech and healthcare industries across Europe, has been awarded the management of the monitor replacement service for its client Packard Bell NEC.
