Ralph Drayer earns distinguished service award

Ralph W. Drayer, president of Supply Chain Insights and former vice president of efficient consumer response worldwide at Procter & Gamble, received the Council of Logistics Management's 36th annual Distinguished Service Award at the organization's annual meeting in Kansas City last month.
In announcing the award, the council cited Drayer's 32 years of experience at Procter & Gamble in a number of distribution, logistics, customer service, and customer business development positions, both domestically and internationally. Among them, he was Procter & Gamble's first global vice president of customer service/logistics. He was most recently responsible for the company's implementation of efficient consumer response (ECR) globally.
Drayer served as co-chair of the grocery industry's ECR Best Practices Committee and as chairman of the Grocery Manufacturers Association's Distribution and Logistics Committee. He has served on the boards of the Uniform Code Council and the Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Standards Association, on the Council of Logistics Management's Executive Committee, and in a variety of other industry and community organizations. He was also a founder of the Global Commerce Initiative and currently serves on its board of directors.
Among his many activities, Drayer has written articles for Supply Chain Management Review and shared his insights at speaking engagements all over the world.
The Council of Logistics Management presents the Distinguished Service Award annually to an individual who has made significant contributions to the art and science of logistics management. The award is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon an individual for achievement in logistics.
