MIT course celebrates 20 years
Staff -- Logistics Management, 4/1/2002
The annual summer executive-education program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Center for Transportation and Logistics celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2002.
This year's four-day program, "Supply Chain Management: Thought Leadership," will run from June 10 to 14 at MIT's Cambridge, Mass., campus. The course will focus on supply chain management practices in leading companies, the connection between business success and logistics and supply chain management excellence, the relationship between advanced information technology and global optimization, and the tools, models and processes for achieving supply chain excellence.
The program includes management exercises, business case studies and lecture/discussions. It draws its faculty from the leading academic thinkers in supply chain management and technology, says Center for Transportation and Logistics director Yossi Sheffi, who will lead the course. The speakers are not only gifted researchers, says Sheffi, but also bring a combination of the latest thinking and practical know-how to the classroom.
