Associated Global Systems has launched three new international transportation and logistics services. The "AGS Global Package Express Service" will provide door-to-door service to more than 40,000 destinations for shipments weighing less than 100 pounds. The "AGS Global Expedited Freight Service," designed for shipments weighing more than 100 pounds, provides next-flight-out capability with first-, second- or third-business day delivery to more than 800 cities. Finally, the "AGS International Recovery and Return Service" provides reverse logistics service throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.
CNF subsidiary Emery Expedite!, which provides door-to-door air and ground emergency shipment services, has changed its name to Menlo Worldwide Expedite!
As part of its ocean freight expansion, BAX Global Inc. now offers what it calls the industry's first instant online rate quotes for less-than-containerload (LCL) ocean shipments from anywhere in the United States to anywhere in the world. The new feature, found on BAX Global's Web site (www.baxglobal.com/Ocean), combines inland and ocean LTL pricing at the click of a button.
FedEx Freight has expanded its next-day coverage in the East and added new options in the West. As part of the service enhancement, FedEx Freight East (formerly American Freightways) will launch FedEx Freight Next Day Plus service, which will deliver shipments via truck in selected lanes up to 900 miles by the next business day. FedEx Freight West (formerly Viking Freight) now offers a money-back guarantee option to all points the carrier serves directly. It has also introduced an expedited delivery service for customers with tight deadlines.
