Stretch wrapper wraps odd-sized loads
Stretch-wrap cargo of any size and shape to a pallet while the load is on the forklift with the Yellowjacket 110 stretch-wrap machine. Unlike traditional stretch wrappers, which wrap around a vertical axis, this model wraps around a horizontal axis. The wrapping cylinder carries a spool of stretch-wrap on a moving dispenser. The stretch-wrap is dispensed around and under the loaded pallet, while the cylinder is manually or automatically advanced forward across the pallet. This eliminates the need for bands or straps to attach irregularly shaped loads to pallets. YellowJacket LLC (800) 387-5001 www.yellowjacket110.com
Tilt table/positioner moves heavy items
Workers can lift and position the heaviest boxes with the Hercules heavy-duty hydraulic tilt table and container positioner. Designed to tilt and position pallets, crates, boxes or other large containers at comfortable angles, the table makes emptying easy and reduces injuries, according to the manufacturer.
The table remains steady during pumping, while gravity lowers the deck to 10.5 inches. Hercules is constructed of welded, heavy-duty plate steel and features a blue enamel finish. It ships from the manufacturer already set up and ready to use, with an air-pressure gauge included. Dozier Equipment (800) 251-1234 www.dozierequip.com
Software schedules best routes
TruckStops routing and scheduling software has added open database connectivity (ODBC). ODBC lets users read and write data from their legacy systems to build the data sets needed for TruckStops to create least-cost/best-service routes. It can be used for scheduling vehicles on routes that change daily or for planning and updating fixed routes. MicroAnalytics (703) 841-0414 www.bestroutes.com
RFID system finds pallet discrepancies
Read/write radio-frequency identification (RFID) system is capable of reading at a distance of up to 8 feet between opposing antennas. The LRP2000 PassThru system can read information on both the pallets themselves and items on the pallets, even if those items are liquid-based or located in the center of the pallet.
All items in an order are written to a master tag located on the pallet. When the items have been picked, the system reads RFID labels for individual items and compares them to the master tag or electronic shipping manifest. As the forklift passes through the dock door, an alarm sounds if the items on the pallet do not match the intended list. Escort Memory Systems (831) 438-7000 www.ems-rfid.com
Container system adds new sizes
"Straight wall" system of containers is a complete line of injection-molded modular containers with matching pallets and top caps. Four new sizes—15 x 12 x 8 inches, 24 x 15 x 4 inches, 24 x 15 x 7.5 inches, and 24 x 15 x 11 inches—have been added to the line, bringing the total to 15 different models.
The new models feature a perimeter dust skirt to protect contents from contaminants and straight, solid interior walls for optimal product protection. Reinforced corner ribbing provides rigid column strength for secure stacking. Ergonomic handles allow easy lifting. Buckhorn (800) 543-4454 www.buckhorninc.com
