In an effort to improve its business practices, Kenwood USA Corp. has named Eric Kriegisch to the new position of director of supply chain operations and Dan Gesshel to the new post of director of Internet operations. Kriegisch, who joined Kenwood in 1998 as its national account logistics manager, has an extensive background in warehousing and distribution management. Gesshel formerly served as sales analysis manager for Kenwood USA, which supplies home and mobile audio/video products and is the largest subsidiary of Kenwood Corp. of Japan.
CSX Corp. has announced several executive changes at CSX Intermodal and CSX Transportation. Clarence W. Gooden has been named CSX Transportation's senior vice president-merchandise service group, and Alan P. Blumenfeld has been named president of CSX Intermodal Inc.
Royce Aultman has been appointed director of Southeastern operations for Nexus Distribution, a third-party logistics provider headquartered in Schaumburg, Ill.
The board of directors of Schneider National Inc. has elected Christopher B. Lofgren president and chief executive officer, and has appointed him to the board of directors. Lofgren succeeds Donald J. Schneider and becomes the third leader of the privately owned transportation and logistics company, which was founded in 1935.
Old Dominion Freight Line, a less-than-truckload carrier based in Thomasville, N.C., has named Maureen Pierce director of expedited services. Pierce is an 18-year veteran of the transportation industry.
