Lykes Lines has launched a service between the U.S. Gulf Coast, Central America and South America's West Coast. This is the first time that Lykes Lines has offered a direct link between the U.S. Gulf and Peru, Ecuador and Chile. Five 1,500-TEU ships, all with significant reefer capacity, will operate the service once every 10 days.
The "WorldWise Moving Network," a joint offering of North American International and Four Winds International Group, brings together the resources of two household-goods relocation companies to manage international moves. Members of the network will specialize in door-to-door international moving, storage, freight forwarding and distribution, customs brokerage and international logistics.
Overnite Transportation Co. recently enhanced its electronic bill of lading (eBOL) system, providing customers with faster processing speeds and expanded features. Through MyOvernite, shippers can search their personalized online shipping databases by name, location, city, state, ZIP code or store number.
Ocean carrier TMM Lines has launched a multi-purpose service between the East Coast of North America and Africa, operating once every two weeks. The service, known as the East Coast North America-Africa Service, represents TMM Lines' first effort to offer a direct link between Africa and North America.
