Schneider National Inc. has received the "Outstanding Carrier Award for Store Direct Delivery" from Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse. The award recognizes Schneider's commitment to delivering time-sensitive freight on schedule.
Lowe's also presented Saia with its 2002 Silver Team Award for the less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier's on-time delivery record and performance as measured by Lowe's audit program. Saia last year earned the Bronze Team Award.
Con-Way Transportation Services Inc. and its four regional LTL subsidiaries received the LTL Carrier of the Year award from Frito-Lay North America. This marks the second year that the Con-Way carriers have earned this award for outstanding service, innovation, and ease of doing business.
- Hong Kong-based Dragonair has been named the most efficient airline for intercontinental transportation by Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The award recognizes air carriers for their efficient handling of cargo.
Freight Management Inc. (FMI) has been named Vendor of the Year by CSK Auto, which operates 120 auto-supply stores in the West and Midwest under the names Kragen, Schucks, and Checker. FMI was recognized for its contract logistics services, which have saved the shipper nearly $350,000 this year alone.
Schenker Inc. has received Q1 certification from Ford Motor Company. The certification acknowledges suppliers that have achieved a sustained level of excellence in customer satisfaction while meeting Ford's standards for quality, productivity, and service.
Old Dominion Freight Line has won the Carrier of the Year award in the Super-Regional category from Samsonite Corporation. The award was presented at Samsonite's annual carrier meeting in Denver, Colo.
