Heavy-duty lift truck handles long loads

Combilift Ltd. has introduced its C8000 heavy-duty lift truck to the North American market. The C8000 is designed for hauling long loads such as lumber, building supplies, plastic pipe and moldings, and steel and aluminum pipe and rods. The four-directional vehicle has an LP gas engine and boasts a capacity of up to 8,000 lbs. One-button operation changes the orientation of the wheels for sideways maneuverability in aisles as narrow as 78 inches. Hydrostatic drive and brakes offer precise speed control, and the engine can be outfitted with an optional 3-way catalytic converter and exhaust gas sensor for extended indoor use. An optional mast extension increases the C8000's reach from 13.25 feet to 26 feet. Combilift Ltd. (877) 266-2456 www.combilift.com

Combined onboard computer and driver display takes up less space

Just 8.75 inches wide by 7.5 inches high by 2.25 inches deep, the Compact Mobius TTS from Cadec Corp. combines an onboard computer, driver display, and speaker in a single dashboard-mounted unit. According to the manufacturer, the redesigned model also requires less wiring, draws less power from a vehicle's battery, and installs 60 percent faster than the original version.

The Mobius provides fleet managers with real-time information on the vehicle, driver, and delivery performance through the onboard computer and a hand-held, 12-channel global positioning system (GPS) unit. It also offers a range of communication options and management software that support accounting, payroll, dispatch, fleet maintenance, and regulatory compliance. Cadec Corp. Rugged hand-held is designed for durability

Psion Teklogix has released the Model 7535, a hand-held computer for collecting data in rugged environments. The 7535 can withstand high levels of shock and vibrations, including multiple drops onto concrete from heights of up to 6.5 feet.

Although the hand-held is rugged enough to endure the elements, it is still lightweight and ergonomically comfortable to use. The unit, which runs on the Windows CE .NET operating system, is equipped with a large color touch screen for easy visibility. It also offers an array of radio, scanning, keyboard, and display options.

According to the manufacturer, the 7535 is suitable for use in both traditional applications inside the warehouse as well as for outside mobile computing needs. Psion Teklogix (905) 813-9900 www.psionteklogix.com
