Electronic log automates driver hours-of-service reporting
PeopleNet Communications' eDriver Logs eliminate the need to create written hours-of-service reports by allowing drivers to enter required information into their onboard computers. Data entry can be accomplished either through PeopleNet's equipment or a Palm handheld device. The program offers real-time violation alerts that note when a driver is within one hour of reaching maximum hours for a shift. Hours-of-service data can be viewed by the day or by the week, including hours available for the next day, which allows users to avoid dispatching drivers to a job where they potentially could violate hours restrictions.
