CSX Intermodal and Canadian National (CN) have finalized plans to build a state-of-the art rail-truck intermodal facility in Memphis, Tenn. In cooperation with the city, Shelby County, and the Memphis & Shelby County Port Commission, the railroads will break ground on the 155-acre facility this month, and plan to launch operations about one year later. The terminal will have five tracks with a total pad length of 20,000 feet as well as 1,800 parking spots for trailers and chassis. The terminal will have an annual capacity of 200,000 lifts.

Purolator Courier Ltd. and PBB Global Logistics have launched a new company to provide Purolator's clients with secure and compliant customs brokerage services. Purolator Trade Solutions Ltd. will also offer integrated call center, invoicing, and information system capabilities.

Crowley Logistics has acquired Apparel Transportation Inc., a provider of air, ocean, and inland transportation services to apparel customers in the United States and Central America. The acquisition complements Crowley's current services while providing Apparel Transportation with new resources and markets.

R.R. Donnelley Logistics has opened a 670,000 square-foot distribution facility in York, Pa. The DC will process all packages originating from and destined for the Northeast. The facility is expected to speed home deliveries by up to two days within the region and one day for the rest of the country.

XTRA Lease has acquired equipment assets from Leasing USA Inc. The newly purchased trailers will be equipped with XTRA's FleetView tracking system.

Odyssey Logistics & Technology has acquired freight forwarder Nordstrom Freighting Corp. The forwarder will provide Odyssey's customers with international services for the chemical, process manufacturing, and consumer packaged goods industries.
