New belt-curve conveyor line

Staff -- Logistics Management, 4/1/2005

Two models of belt-curve conveyors are suitable for a multitude of applications where a conveyor line needs to change direction in a tight space. Belt Curve+ Light is well suited for moving containers and lighter parcels at slow speeds, while Belt Curve+ Heavy Duty is designed for transporting heavy items such as at airports and parcel distribution centers. A key feature of the belt curve is a positive head-drive, allowing for reliable transport at speeds up to 492 feet per minute. In addition, the overall height from the upper track to the frame has been minimized from its previous 250 mm to 160 mm to save space.

The belt is kept on track by spring-loaded casters fitted inside the upper section of the outer radius side frame, and low-set casters inside the lower section. These effectively absorb the lateral forces on the belt, which are generated through the curve. Also, new options simplify maintenance and speed up belt changing. Both series can be operated in reverse as standard, are available with conveying angles of 30, 45, 60, 90 and 180 degrees, and operate at a low noise level of 65 dB.
