Extend order cut-off times up to 300 percent

Staff -- Logistics Management, 4/1/2005

Extend order cut-off times up to 300 percent by intelligently sorting and processing orders with the earliest cut-off times first, "hot picking" last-minute orders, and increasing worker productivity levels—all capabilities of FastPic4 software. The software allows companies to set their daily shipping cut-off times by creating different priority levels. When orders are processed for picking, the software automatically sorts them into batches, and will prioritize orders with the earliest cut-off times to help assure deadlines are met.

The software's "hot pick" functionality allows users to suspend batch-picking operations with a click of a button, then process last-minute orders that require immediate shipping. All orders are immediately available for pick processing, which eliminates the time required for manual or paper processing and increases throughput and accuracy. The software can be used in conjunction with pick-to-light technology and/or automated storage and retrieval equipment to further enhance efficiency. FastPic4 can be used alone or integrated as part of a suite, and is compatible with Windows NT, 2000, and XP.
