New tool for ocean freight tenders

Staff -- Logistics Management, 3/1/2006

INTTRA, a technology company supported by a group of ocean carriers, now offers shippers and their carriers INTTRA Tender, a Web-based tool designed to make the freight tender process faster and more efficient.

The product allows carriers and shippers to create, design, send, and receive proposals using standard data formats and a workflow process that breaks through the limitations of traditional Excel-based tender processes.

Users upload and download proposals quickly and easily from Excel spreadsheets, and then use INTTRA's powerful online tools to view and compare carrier proposals according to multiple service criteria. Quotes may be viewed in the currency of choice, and surcharges may be included or excluded. Another feature is the ability to review the cost impact of carrier selections and changes to trade lanes and service strategies. Multiple tender proposals may be tracked and managed over multiple rounds.

The data can be stored, archived, and reused. Data is protected for internal and external use through security controls for user access.

INTTRA's e-commerce platform offers a comprehensive range of tools, including: Tender, Sailing Schedules, Booking, Shipping Instructions, Bill of Lading, Track & Trace, and Reports.
