Software speeds fuel tax filing

Staff -- Logistics Management, 3/1/2006

ALK Technologies Inc. has announced the release of PC*MILER|FuelTax 11, a comprehensive fuel tax reporting package for motor carriers and private fleets.

PC*MILER|FuelTax 11 automates the entire fuel tax process. The application generates rates and forms for all U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions and instantly calculates fuel and mileage taxes, refunds, and credits. Features include state mileage summaries, fleet performance reports, and quarterly updates for compliance with IFTA (International Fuel Tax Agreement) and IRP (International Registration Plan) provisions.

The quarterly updates can be downloaded from ALK's website. Because the revisions are available online, users can save up to two weeks between the updates' availability and tax filing deadlines.

New features include enhanced checks to secure backup and recovery files during software installation. The application now automatically carries over a vehicle's last odometer reading to the next trip and can import trip information into spreadsheets.
