Electric lift truck offers better control

Staff -- Logistics Management, 5/1/2006

The EFG 110-115 series of compact, electric three-wheel forklift trucks from Jungheinrich offers three load ratings (2,000, 2,500, and 3,000 pounds), and lift heights from 171 inches to 216.5 inches.

The cab offers a high roof (82.3 inches) for superior headroom. The operator's display highlights important data, including operating hours, battery-charge level, and brake-system status; the system also stores servicing data. The optional Curve Control feature automatically reduces travel speeds around curves depending on the degree of steering lock, providing stability and protection from tip-over.

SOLO-PILOT, a standard offering, provides access to the functions of lifting/lowering, turn signal, and horn use in one control lever. The optional MULTI-PILOT combines all drive and hydraulic functions in one lever.

The vehicles' microprocessor-controlled, three-phase AC technology powers all drive and lift functions. An energy-reclamation system feeds back energy to the battery that would otherwise be lost during braking. As a result, users can get up to two shifts between charges, depending on the application. According to the manufacturer, these trucks only require service checks every 1,000 operating hours or every six months.
