Mobile computers with speech-recognition capability

Staff -- Logistics Management, 8/1/2005

New versions of the MC9000 mobile computer are enabled with speech-recognition capabilities. These computers are designed for customers that require hands-free operation for speech-recognition and voice-prompted applications in warehouses and distribution centers.

The computers will deliver increased productivity and real-time data-capture capabilities, the manufacturer says. Voice-recognition, bar-code scanning, imaging, and keyboard input are all featured functions of the new computers, which promise to increase worker mobility.
