A. Duie Pyle will expand its truckload (TL) shipping operation in response to growing customer demand for TL services. The West Chester, Pa.-based carrier has invested in 50 new over-the-road (OTR) 2007 Freightliner Columbia tractors with sleepers and plans to hire a corresponding number of full-time OTR drivers by the end of the year. The growth plan supplements A. Duie Pyle's dedicated pool of more than 150 owner/operator TL drivers.
4 Way Logistics has launched Online LTL Marketplace, a new Internet-based service that allows customers to quickly find an LTL solution. Using the service, customers can compare rates and transit times, get quotes simultaneously from different LTL carriers, book shipments, and maintain an online address book of shippers and consignees to help streamline future orders. Shippers can also add users, store freight quotes for future reference, and access the technology 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
