Reader quickly decodes linear and 2-D bar codes

By Staff -- Logistics Management, 2/1/2007

The MAH300 hand-held bar-code reader is the smallest and lightest full-featured terminal on the market, says the manufacturer. The unit reads large linear and high-density, two-dimensional matrix symbols using unique Dynamic Optimization Technology (DOT). DOT continuously adapts the resolution, illumination, and image field to achieve matrix-symbol decoding at speeds that are similar to those for linear bar-code decoding.

The MAH300 boasts a reading range of 300 feet. It features a 1.3 mega-pixel, dual-field image-collection engine; a high-capacity lithium-ion battery (standard on battery-powered units); and a real-time clock with its own battery backup. This design gives the terminal sufficient capacity for more than eight hours of intensive use.

For wireless communications, a 2.4 GHz radio system that is compatible with a wide range of Bluetooth systems is also available.
