Logisticians “survive the slump,” but costs hit 10.1 percent of GDP

Global logistics: UPS takes over Korean operations

UPS said earlier today it has reached an agreement with The Korea Express Co. Ltd. (KEC), a logistics services provider, to acquire KEC’s 40 percent interest in the UPS-KEC express joint venture company in Korea.

Diesel prices

Diesel prices sunk slightly this week to $4.648 per gallon, with the national average remaining above $4 per gallon. This week's price is 181.3 cents higher than the price last year at this time. Click here to continue

League urges house review of shipping act

The League told members of the House Transportation and Infrastructure's Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Subcommittee June 19 that Congress should conduct a comprehensive review of the Shipping Act as there are serious questions on whether carrier liner immunity should be continued in the U.S. trades.
