Software vendors announce partnerships
Staff -- Logistics Management, 3/1/2001
Software vendors continue their dealmaking: This past month, two more major alliances were announced. The first partnership links Celarix Inc. of Cambridge, Mass., with NextLinx Corp. of Silver Spring, Md. Under the deal's teams, Celarix, which provides a Web-hosted application for managing global logistics, will expand its services to include NextLinx's information on regulatory compliance and trade. Specifically, Celarix will resell and host NextLinx's Global Manager, a solution for automating import and export compliance processes, documentation, and content.
The other alliance links SynQuest of Atlanta with G-Log of Shelton, Conn. The two vendors say their partnership will unify SynQuest's dynamic sourcing and inbound planning application with G-Log's transportation system to provide a solution covering all inbound, outbound, and intra-enterprise shipments on a single Internet-based platform. The two will market their end-to-end supply chain solution to manufacturers and third-party logistics providers.
