Cardinal shifts focus
Staff -- Logistics Management, 4/1/2001
Once a nationwide motor carrier, Cardinal Logistics Management Inc. says it has changed its focus from asset-based transportation services to two core offerings: dedicated delivery and logistics management.
The transition began last year with the sale of the Concord, N.C., company's van and flatbed divisions. The company says that the transition has been supported with nearly $15 million in funding from its financial partners, Golder, Thoma, Cressey, and Rauner Inc. (GTCR).
Cardinal CEO Vin McLoughlin said in a prepared statement: "[W]e have reorganized to concentrate on those operations that have accounted for all of our strong growth over the past three years."
Services offered by Cardinal include:
- Dedicated delivery, which includes turnkey transportation systems, private-fleet replacement, existing fleet supplements, and specialized delivery services to homes and offices.
- Logistics management, which includes carrier information and claims management, mode analysis, consolidation and optimization, and consulting services.
