Roll-Out Drawers Give Vertical Carousels Added Storage Flexibility

Users of the MegaStation Vertical Carousel from Mega- Star Systems now can choose roll-outdrawers as an option. The drawers are designed to fit inserts from all major manufacturers, including Lista and Stanley.

The roll-out drawers are constructed of heavy-gauge steel with an industrial-grade slide assembly. The new units, which have capacities from 75 pounds to 300 pounds, are available in sizes from three to 12 inches high with depths of 16, 20, and 22 inches. These heavy-duty drawers can be configured as a minimum of two drawers per carrier to a maximum of 20 drawers per carrier, depending upon storage density requirements.

In addition to the roll-out doors, the carousel's other options include refrigerated units, burn-in carriers with AC power, electrostatic discharge protection, sealed atmospheric units, multiple access openings, and bar-code readers and scanners.

Intercomp Designs Scale for Unconventional Pallets

The new TB830 Twin Beam Scale from Intercomp is designed to accommodate both sides of a pallet. The independent twin beam design can handle most pallets and is especially effective for unconventional pallets that cannot be handled by a pallet truck, a walkie, or lift truck scales.

The scale can be used with Intercomp's GP1000 battery-operated indicator with 1-inch LCD display and backlight for gross/net/tare functions.

Spiral Door Offers an Alternative to Steel Overhead Doors

The Spiral High-Speed Door from Rytec Corp. was designed for exterior doorways with moderate to heavy motorized traffic. The door, which uses a spiral roll-up technology, moves at five feet per second. It was designed as an alternative to steel overhead doors, which tend to be noisy, slow, and bulky, the manufacturer says.

The unit has insulated aluminum slats to provide security and conserve energy. The door is equipped with a reversing edge and dual through-beam photo eyes that reverse the door should it come in contact with an object. It also reverses whenever an object enters its closing path.

New Scissor Lift Positions Items to Prevent Worker Injuries

Air Technical Industries of Mentor, Ohio, has announced the development of a new scissor lift and tilt table with a long side up tilt. It is designed for tilting long items from a horizontal to a vertical position or placing them on a pallet for shipping. It can also be used for assembling large panels because it is ergonomically designed to position the item to align with the workers' specific needs.

The new scissor lift positioner is electro-hydraulically operated with 110 V single phase or 220/440 V 3-phase. Control options include a handheld push-button pendant and a foot pedal, which frees the operators' hands.

The unit is available in capacities of 2,000, 4,000, 6,000, and 10,000 pounds. Sizes include 32 inches wide by 48 inches long, 48 by 72 inches, and 72 by 96 inches. The lift height ranges from 36 to 72 inches.

The normal tilt angle is 45 degrees, and the retaining plate is 8 inches in height. Optional 90-degree tilt is also available, as is a higher retaining plate. The units are available for stationary operation or can be installed on wheels with optional outriggers for stability.
