- Supply chain software vendor Logility Inc. of Atlanta has struck an alliance with another software maker, Pitney Bowes of Minneapolis. Under terms of the deal, Pitney Bowes will supplement its offerings by reselling Logility's transportation planning and optimization packages. Logility also has forged an alliance with another software maker, Metiom of New
York. Metiom's software suite covers such activities as purchasing and bid and
quote processing.
- Supply chain software vendor Provia Software of Grand Rapids, Mich., has inked a partnership deal with TRADEPAQ Corp. of New York. TRADEPAQ provides tools to automate global trade, including document creation. TRADEPAQ will link its suite of e-business applications to Provia's execution and fulfillment collaboration suites. Provia also has signed a deal with Celarix Inc.
of Cambridge, Mass., to link their applications. Celarix provides a platform
for collaboration as well as event-management tools for transportation. Provia
says the alliance will offer its customers visibility of inbound shipments and
order information.
- Software vendor EC Outlook of Houston has signed a pact with Symbol Technologies Inc.
of Holtsville, N.Y. EC Outlook will integrate Symbol's two-dimensional (2D)
bar-code technology into its electronic order-management application. As a
result, users of that software will be able to create 2D bar-code shipping
labels along with their purchase orders.
- GT Nexus of Alameda, Calif., has formed alliances with three ocean carriers: Crowley Liner Services, CSAV, and Wan Hai. The
ocean-freight exchange and operating platform provider already has deals in
place with nine other ocean carriers. GT Nexus was formerly known as
Tradiant.
- Saltare Leap of San Mateo, Calif., has teamed up with Vitria Businessware Technology of Sunnyvale, Calif., to offer integrated solutions for
supply chain event management. Saltare makes Web-based collaborative supply
chain software; Vitria provides integration servers.
- Event-management software provider Viewlocity Inc. of Atlanta has teamed up with systems integrator eSYNC International of Toledo, Ohio. Under terms
of the arrangement, eSYNC will install Viewlocity's software for third-party
logistics companies.
- WMS vendor Majure Data of Roswell, Ga., will integrate its WMS package into the order-processing and order-fulfillment application of CoLinear Systems,
which is based in Marietta, Ga. CoLinear produces software for direct commerce
operations and fulfillment, and Majure Data provides enterprise
materials-management systems.
- AirIQ of Toronto has acquired Canadian software vendor D'Ark Systems, also of Toronto. D'Ark Systems specializes in Internet- and
intranet-based solutions. AirIQ focuses on telematics, the wireless
transmission of location-based information and control messages for fleet
management.
- LogisticSoftware N.A. Inc. of Bingham Farms, Mich., has forged a strategic alliance with Microlistics of Melbourne, Australia.
Microlistics' warehouse management system will be integrated into
LogisticSoftware's e-supply chain software.
- Warehouse management systems maker Manhattan Associates of Atlanta has formed an alliance with Manugistics Group Inc. of Rockville, Md.
Manugistics will embed Manhattan Associates' PkMS warehouse management system
into Manugistics' fulfillment application.
- Shipping software vendor Varsity Logistics Inc. of San Francisco has linked up with Ehrhardt Warehouse Management Systems LLC of South
Orange, N.J. Varsity will align its transportation management solution with
Ehrhardt's WMS.
- Intermec Technologies Corp. of Everett, Wash., has partnered with Atheros of Sunnyvale, Calif., to build and market wireless local area network systems. Intermec will incorporate Atheros' technology into its next-generation access points for industrial customers.
