Since acquiring GATX Logistics in the Americas and Mare Logistik & Spedition GmbH in Germany, APL Logistics has named several people to its management team. Mike Gardner, formerly COO and executive vice president of GATX Logistics, was named chief operating officer. Phil Van Wormer is the new senior vice president, sales and marketing. Todd Carter, previously of GATX Logistics, was named senior vice president, strategic planning. Also joining the company from GATX Logistics is Joe Nicosia, who will now serve as senior advisor. Reporting to Mike Gardner is Bill Villalon, who was named president for the Americas. Also reporting to Gardner is Rick Moradian, who will serve as president for Asia/Middle East. Reporting to Todd Carter is Thomas Poulsen, who was named director, business development and operations, Europe. Elsewhere in the organization, Greg Ott has been appointed president of See Change Technologies, the technology arm of APL Logistics. And APL Direct Logistics, APL's Internet fulfillment business, has named Frank DiMaria chief executive officer.
