Widely regarded as premier authorities on third-party logistics, Armstrong & Associates will be staging its second annual 3PL Value Creation Summit In Chicago next week with a special focus on “The Americas.”

The summit is scheduled for October 28-30, 2014 at the University Center Conference and will attract C-level executives, major shippers and prominent industry analysts.

Of special interest to readers of Logistics Management will be “Americas Update,” which will look into the future of the market in the Americas and assess how firms will be able to favorably position themselves to compete and win market share.

Among the issued addressed by panelists will be:

• Major 3PL, trucker, railroad & VAWD trends
• Financial results – 2014 & predictions for 2015
• Domestic transportation managers/freight brokers – the evolving model – LTL penetration
• Merger & acquisition update – private equity consequences
• IT & innovations – WMS, TMS & GSM
• Where are we? Where are we going? New markets? Growth?

Evan Armstrong, president of the global consulting firm and valued LM source, notes that global economic forces, paradigm changes and transformation in industry verticals have set the stage for third-party logistics competition in 2015…and beyond.

“While the future offers up plenty of uncertainty, one thing remains clear: Top executives at 3PLs will need to lead their organizations to become innovators and value creators in order to survive and thrive in the marketplace,” he observes.
